a little bit country

couple of lost kids...
got milk?

the favorite of the night! ummm, which way?

not a bad view to wake up too...wish i could get a pic of the stars at night, gorgeous!
so we're back home visiting family. just hanging out and enjoying the peace and quiet of small town life.

doing a bit of work on the motor home, organizing and getting ready to hit the road again soon...maybe next week.

found a place to work out in gonzales. the hospital's wellness center has a pretty nice gym. we did legs this morning and some upper body yesterday. also made our first sale since we have been on the road. and we are looking forward to lots of sales in the austin area next week.

we have also been trying to keep the kids busy. on saturday we went to the local corn maze. the maze was really hard, but the kids enjoyed the slides, duck races and corn cannon. i think they are ready to go back.

on sunday i discovered uppercase living products. very cool!! not sure if i have space in the motor home, but i am sure i can find some. :-)

other than that we have been chilling out with family and resting a bit. today i got a new coat of blond and a haircut ...much better!

quick nola visit

we made a new friend today
streets of new orleans...eating some lucky dogs inside one if the crypts french quarter

new orleans
aidan petting a nurse shark

so we left tampa late tuesday and drove to new orleans. got here yesterday afternoon. went to the french quarter for a short walk and dinner at oceana. guess i am a small town girl...way too many strip clubs for me!

the auduban aquarium was very cool. the kids loved the sharks and feeding the sting rays. then we walked thru the cemetaries and found lots of bones and skulls. creepy! drove thru the garden district while the kids napped in the car. then drove thru the ninth ward to survey the damage from katrina. very sad. all in all another very busy week.

getting ready to head to houston for a couple of repairs from our dealership. should be back in texas by midnight and in moulton by tomorrow.
quick joke from the aquarium: how much did the pirate pay for his piercings?? a buck-an-ear!

sunday and monday

beach playground

sand dudes!
sand angel...or devil!?!?!

went to clearwater beach sunday. took us awhile to find a place to park the rig. we didnt swim, but the kids loved the playground and made a fun mess in the sand. ate at shells restaurant. i just love places where you can eat outside and let the kids run around while you wait on food. it was a cool place with live music and all.

yesterday we finally joined a golds here in tampa with travel privileges and spent some time showing off the hookers to the general manager. got a few contacts to follow up with. did an upper body superset workout with some jump rope. spent the rest of the day just driving around and ended up in sarasota. cool bridge on the way out there.

today we are resting up to head back. went back to golds for a good leg workout. need to do some laundry. i am ready to head back and tie up some loose ends back home. should head that way tonight or early tomorrow.

hurricanes and tidal waves

saturday night??

the funny thing about rving (and not working) is that you have no sense of time or day. here it is saturday night and the only reason i know that is because my watch tells me so.
all the guys are snoring right now. we had a busy day. went to st. petersburg to "the pier" http://www.stpete-pier.com/ then took a trolley around town. had some other things planned to do, but the kids were exhausted and fell asleep as soon as we reached the car. headed back "home" to swim for awhile and ended the night having dinner with friends. definitely a nice saturday.
tomorrow should be clearwater beach. think we are ready to move on from tampa. we'll see.
wotd: 20 minute jog this morning. half with dog, half without. ;-)

don't think i have introduced "Irie" yet

you wouldnt believe the strange folks you find at the grocery store...

a turn for the better

well the rv is fixed. blown transfer switch. we stayed last night at the happy traveler, but left this morning for rally park. http://www.lazydays.com/rallypark.html it's super nice for less money. plus we get the first two nights free. cant beat it. huge screened pool and hot tub, free breakfast and lunch, free cable, very nice and clean.
johnny is finally done with the job here so we had most of the day to relax. picked up some groceries, then swam for over two hours.
i cant believe i forgot the camera when we went to the pool. both of the boys are swimming so well. aidan is swimming, floating, turning over, doggie paddling and diving. holden can swim at least 10 feet or so, huge improvement over the frantic kicking and sinking from before.
finally made it to bed before 11 pm. only 8:54 and watching some tv from bed and planning some sightseeing for tomorrow.
:-)

the not so happy traveler

so last night was our first time to stay at an rv campsite. we stayed at http://www.happytravelerrvpark.com/ which was a nice enough place...until we couldnt get power to the rv. johnny worked on it for at least two hours with no luck. it's being fixed now (hopefully.) anyway we ran the generator and we were fine, just very aggravated and worn out.
the kids swam for a bit and i was able to cook supper. we also upgraded to get cable ($2) so that was a splurge for the day. :-)

workout of the day (wotd): one mile treadmill run, 10lb*20*3 shoulder press, one mile stationary bike, another mile on the treadmill, 10lb*12*3 lateral raise
yay, my first workout in a week!!!

finally florida

got in to tampa last night. johnny is working on his last job right now. hopefully will be finished today or early tomorrow. thinking about checking out busch gardens or the beach.
we have yet to stay at an rv park. just parking lots and rest stops. ready to stay put for a day or two.
i miss my xm radio and directv! still have starbucks though!
the learning curve has been interesting. last night we ran out of water and johnny was up til after one a.m. filling it. this morning our holding tanks were full...yuck. we are all fixed up now though :-)
sitting here in on a neighborhood street in tampa listening to the rain on the rooftop. not a bad life at all.

somewhere in mississippi

headed for tampa bay. should make it tomorrow. made slow time today. stopped for breakfast, lunch, groceries. and found a nice koa playground near lafayette.
johnny experienced the fish kill in the Atchafalaya basin. he couldnt believe i napped thru the smell.
wish i had a dollar for every utility truck headed to texas.
i would post pics if i had my camera cord. it has disappeared into a black hole along with a few other things.

recon mission

to catch you up to date: we have spent the past week cleaning out our house, selling or storing everything we own, and moving into a 35' 1999 Bounder (yes, a motor home) in order to travel the country. the mission is two-fold. first) we love to travel and want to do so before our kids are school age. second) to promote and sell our patented fitness product (www.jdmaxfitness.com) to as many people as possible.

we expect to do this thru december, then take a break to chill with family before we move to costa rica or possibly roatan. still deciding on that one.

why?.....well why not? we have been talking about moving somewhere tropical since our 1999 honeymoon in jamaica. now we are finally restless enough to give it a shot. so we threw in the rv travel just to make it a bit more interesting, lol.
